Problem

technology to preserve their position in a now global economy.
Toyoda Solution
The company worked with their Toyoda distributor
to determine the best equipment for their needs. They were looking
to increase overall speed and productivity during machining, and
to minimize the need for manual operations.
Equipment Specs
The company purchased two new Toyoda CNC Cylindrical
GE4 grinders, one with automatic loading capabilities. The GE4s
are designed for high-precision, automatic grinding of small
lots; perfect for the customized parts this company produces.
Results
Many GE4 features have helped minimize set up time
and operator work load for the company. Programming, for example,
is completed while the first workpiece is ground, fully-automating
the rest of the run. This allows for more efficient multi-step
continuous grinding as the machine automatically compensates
for size variations during machining. The automation technology
eliminates manual operations and reduces production costs.
